After graduating from LAMDA, Robert, along with several other graduates, formed Threshold heatre Company (later Arts Threshold), which in its debut production won the Edinburgh Fringe First shield with The Guise. Then he went straight into rep at Derby Playhouse, then directed by Annie Castledine. After working on the original production of Miss Saigon, with Jonathan Pryce, Robert worked extensively in television and film in South Wales. Developing from supporting roles to lead parts like the role of ‘Rowan’ in Hawk.
Robert has covered a large variety of genres from period and contemporary dramas to soap operas and comedy shows. He has excelled in a variety of roles and succeeds in altering his appearance with every character. From lead parts in award winning and BAFTA nominated independent films such as Branwen (Best Drama at World Film Fest in Houston Texas, and Celtic Film Fest, Fort William), to big budget features like First Knight, with Sean Connery and Richard Gere and The Jackal starring Bruce Willis, to roles in popular TV dramas like BBC1’s Hearts of Gold and Channel Five’s A Mind to Kill which starred fellow Hawk actor Philip Madoc.
