The Movie Trailer Showdown Film Festival

On a warm Summer's evening in June, a couple of the Hawk crew ventured to The William Aston Hall in Wrexham, North Wales after being invited to compete in the 2006 Cobra Beer sponsored Movie Trailer Showdown Film festival, organised by Frozen Moon Productions. In keeping with the World Cup it was a knock out round style festival, 16 finalists had been selected from over a hundred entries and those sixteen had been paired up in the knock out stages.
In the first round the Hawk trailer was up against a very impressive Manga style animation titled "Heist", stiff competition to say the least. The other entries were varied from classic 2D animation to post apocalyptic horror/thriller movies (Human Residue, another strong trailer). After the audience had voted through the top eight, it was over to the judges to decide the eventual winner. The fantastic news for us was that they judged Hawk's trailer to be the overall winner.
Producer Sean McArdell was present to receive the prize and invited to briefly talk to the audience about the background of the project and it's current status.
A big thanks to Frozen Moon Productions for setting up the Festival, may it go on for many years. Hopefully we'll have more projects to enter in future years!
